Alright Xcom 2 has finally arrived! I so excited. I have been itching to play Xcom2 since I saw the reveal trailer from E3. Xcom is a squad based, top down, tactical, third-person shooter with a strategy layer and base management game. I know that’s a lot but it so worth it. So you run a group of freedom fighters against an alien controlled earth. You, as the commander, are in charge of research assignments, facility management, and tactical and strategy play.
You decide what you want to research, what you want to build, what missions to go on, and how the squad fights. While on the ground you control your soldiers actions and movement in order to hack a computer, rescue a VIP, capture a VIP, stopping retaliation missions, infiltrating facilities, and much more. It really is a complex game that you really have to think about. That being said it’s a ton of fun. You get attached to your soldiers. As they pull off some incredible stuff you start to think, I need this soldier on every mission, or this sniper never misses. And in the unfortunate case of their death you can devastated.
So enough about Xcom, lets talk about 2/5/16 the day Xcom 2 came out. So I was already to go I had installed Xcom 2 everything was ready to go. I recorded for 3 hours. Then my computer dies. I didn’t even know how to react. I rebooted and the file was corrupt. So I tired again. 20 min later same thing. So I called the one person I know who knows more about computers than me. My dad. So I bounced some ideas that I had with him till we cam up with a few possible solutions and reasons why this is happening. Turns out it was my motherboard.
For those of you who have no idea what that is basically think of the motherboard as the computer it self, or the body as a whole of the computer. With out going into all the tech stuff I needed to get a new motherboard. So I go pick one up and install it. This whole process took most of the day. I was up late trying to see if i could record something and ended up calling it around 5 AM. So its about 10 PM and I start up Xcom2 again. No more problems! Or so I think. I was getting some chop when trying to play and record. Currently I’m trying to run everything off one computer, because that is all I have.
So I’m going to get you guys some videos soon. I am working on getting the most out of what i have. The video quality is great, except for when it gets choppy. So I will get that worked out a soon as possible so that we can have some great video up for everyone to see. Thanks for your support and patients.
